Our courses
We run classes in blocks of eight-weeks, including through July & August when our members train outside for summer training. Our courses are led by our motivated team of trainers who guide handlers through the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Award and Good Citizen Dog Scheme Awards (Bronze, Silver & Gold), developing them to achieve mastery of a suite of core exercises and an ever closer working relationship with their dogs. We also run two Platinum Classes for dogs and handlers who have attained their KC Gold Award and wish to develop their skills further and explore the full extent of their dog's capabilities. These classes also support handlers in entering the exciting world of competitive obedience.

Our events
In addition to regular training courses, PDDTS also holds and supports annual events within the obedience calendar. For those who don’t compete, there is plenty to enjoy with skill workshops, social events, fund-raising activities and annual prize-giving!

- The Championship Show - every year since 1974, PDDTS has held the Petersfield & District DTS Championship Obedience Show on the first Sunday in June. The show offers a wide range of classes, from the KC Special Pre-Beginners Stakes to Championship C classes, the winners of which qualify for the internationally acclaimed dog show, Crufts. Watching these handlers can be quite incredible and the show tends to attract handlers and spectators from all over the country. Members of PDDTS are warmly encouraged to come along, help out and even enter their own dogs in the show!
- The Hampshire Rally - every year, PDDTS sends at least one team to take part in the Hampshire Rally: a fun obedience competition between local clubs in Hampshire and the surrounding area. Exercises are set to the level of qualification of each team and the day brings members together through some friendly inter-club rivalry! As well as working our dogs, we also have lots of fun picnicking, whatever the weather!
- Open & Championship Obedience Shows - a number of our members compete individually, often travelling together and even qualifying for national events like Discover Dogs, Crufts and the National Obedience Class Finals.
